Human Resources Officer, Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board (Filled)

Our client, the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board (NSUARB) is an independent quasi-judicial tribunal with broad jurisdiction over a wide range of subject areas such as electricity, water, natural gas, auto insurance, municipal boundaries and various types of appeals.
The Board is seeking a Human Resources Officer who is accountable and responsible for the effective delivery of all HR programs and services within the office. This includes the administration of HR processes and programming including recruitment, employee development and training, policy development, compensation reviews, performance management and occupational health and safety.
The Officer will also provide advisory services to colleagues and senior leaders on a variety of issues including major projects, business case development, and strategic planning initiatives.
As the ideal candidate you have a reputation for strong analytical and technical HR skills complimented by excellent relationship building abilities. You are organized, results focused and a superior multi-tasker able to set priorities. You are a collaborator who is comfortable working within a professional service framework.
You hold a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in human resources, or a related field, with five years experience in human resource management. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. Experience working with professional firms (e.g., law, accounting or engineering) would be beneficial.
