CarbonCure’s mission is to empower cement and concrete producers with technologies and strategies to achieve the industry’s net zero commitment by 2050. Founded in Nova Scotia in 2012, today CarbonCure has hundreds of innovative systems operating across the global concrete industry, enabling concrete producers to harness the benefits of carbon mineralization to produce reliable, lower carbon concrete mixes.
Based out of CarbonCure’s Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Head Office, and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President, People and Culture is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for shaping and leading all aspects of the company’s people and culture function. A transformative leader, the Vice President has a unique opportunity to ideate, develop and lead human resources strategy, programs and policies in support of cultivating a high-performance culture. They are adept at strategically identifying, prioritizing and aligning the human resources needs of the business to transform culture and drive business and customer success.
The Vice President is collaborative, innovative, and resourceful in creating alignment and driving efficiency and change across a broad range of human resources functions and services, including talent acquisition and retention, learning and development, performance management, diversity and inclusion, employee wellness and compensation and benefits. They are a supportive people leader and an advocate and champion representing employee interests. As a trusted advisor and critical contributor to the leadership team, they are relentless in their pursuit of positively influencing and impacting people and culture, aligned to the overall business.
The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of experience as a senior HR leader with demonstrated success leading organizational change and building a high-performance culture. They have a university degree in business, human resources, or a related field, with an advanced degree or Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation preferred. Experience in a high growth or venture capital environment is considered an asset. The Vice President is a strategic, commercially minded people and culture leader, who leads by example with a reputation for developing cohesive, high-performing teams committed to customer excellence. They are adept at capturing and utilizing data and insights to inform strategic and operational decisions that inspire employee engagement, performance and results. The successful candidate is an excellent communicator and an inclusive people leader who values their role as a coach, mentor, and ignitor of highly engaged teams.
