Atlantic Poultry Incorporated (API) is a private company 100% owned and operated by Atlantic Canada farmers. The company is a proud supporter of the poultry industry and provides feed, chicks, poults, and fresh eggs year-round to customers throughout Atlantic Canada. API has locations in New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Nova Scotia and approximately 60 shareholders across the four Atlantic Canadian provinces who are all poultry farmers.

The API brand is defined by integrity, sustainability, and a strong sense of quality, purpose, and alignment among partners – whether farmers, processors or distributors. Headquartered in Port Williams, Nova Scotia, which is an hour from Halifax and an international airport. API employs approximately 500 people directly and indirectly. It markets almost 50% of the broiler chick market annually in Atlantic Canada; over 50% of the annual chick industry in the region; grades table eggs for major retailers, the food service industry, and independent grocers under the NOVA EGGs brand; supplies turkey poults to producers in Nova Scotia, representing more than 80% of the market; markets approximately 40,000 tons of poultry feed annually to the industry in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and is the proud owner of Country Ribbon Inc., Newfoundland’s only fully-integrated chicken producer, and processor. Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President Finance is a key member of the management team and serves a critical role in providing financial oversight, cost management, forecasting, data/analysis and insights, budgeting, capital deployment, and regulatory filings. They are an advisor to colleagues across the business, evaluating and assisting them with financial plans and economic modeling. The Vice President Finance oversees all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization in conjunction with the CEO and Board of Directors.

The successful candidate will be exceptional at relationship management, have outstanding finance and accounting experience and strong business acumen, is agile and curious, and wants to contribute to growing an important local company. They will have a post-graduate degree and accounting designation and at least seven to 10 years of financial and accounting management, ideally in an agriculture, food, or manufacturing company. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and build strong relationships internally and with producers and external partners. The Vice President Finance enjoys being in a barn as much as being in a boardroom.
